OnePlus 8 Pro will come with dual-mode 5G connectivity, spotted on certification sites
The OnePlus 8 series is showing up on the rumour belt, with certain leaks revealing the design and some of the features. So far, we know that OnePlus could end up launching three models under the OnePlus 8 series- a very affordable OnePlus 8 Lite with just the essentials, a regular OnePlus 8 with some premium features and the ultra-premium OnePlus 8 Pro with the best that OnePlus has to offer. While some speculated specs have leaked, one of the features has been confirmed for the premium OnePlus 8 Pro.
According to a recent certification from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) website in China uncovered by a tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, the OnePlus 8 Pro will come with support for 5G connectivity. The phone will support dual-mode 5G connectivity, which suggests the phone will most certainly use the Snapdragon X55 modem and that suggests the presence of the Snapdragon 865 chipset. The Snapdragon 865 is Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset for 2020.
It is also suggested that OnePlus 8 series will debut either in February or March, which seems likely as OnePlus might want to challenge Samsung's Galaxy S11 series slated to launch at the same time. OnePlus did an early launch for the OnePlus 7T series in 2019 and hence, its 6-month cycle will end in March, paving way for the newer OnePlus 8 series.

The OnePlus 8 Lite is a completely new model that is claimed to sit at a very low price point. The OnePlus 8 Lite might end up selling at a sub-Rs 30,000 price. To keep the prices low, OnePlus might settle for a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipset but could still offer a triple rear camera setup, a 90Hz display with a punch-hole cutout and more.
